This is the only game where I cared about crafting the new weapons offered via DLC and where I actively pursued trying to obtain awards. I've crafted more weapons (10+ of each class) and armor sets in this game than any of the others.

While MHTri was the game that introduced me to the series, MHP3rd was the game that made me the fan of the series that I am today. This was the third Monster Hunter game I played and the first game I got to endgame in.

Overall, Rune Factory 3 is a nice improvement over its predecessors and has an improved farming and battling mechanics. Some festivals offer unique items, so you should be aware of what to get during those events. You can participate in eating contests, fishing contest, best crop festivals and so on. There are also different events and festivals where you can participate.

You can gather different ingredients and use those to create different kinds of dishes in the kitchen or create medicines and potions using pharmacy, forge farming tools and weapons on your forge and craft accessories on workshop. You can only have one party at a time, although you can use a magic seed even if you have someone with you.Īside from farming and battling monsters, there are lots of things for you to do. Of course, you can still let your monsters join your party. You are also allowed to recruit villagers to your party as they will fight alongside you and support you like healing HP or removing negative status like poison. You can even marry the bachelorette of your dreams after getting their Love Points maxed and giving them an Engagement Ring. You can befriend the townspeople by talking to them every day and giving them gifts they love. The townspeople are all unique and have their own personality and quirks. Sharance Town has different kinds of shops that can help you, such as: the General Store where you can buy ingredients for cooking and fruit/vegetable seeds, the Flower Shop where you can buy flowers, flower seeds and magic seeds, the blacksmith where you can buy farm tools and weapons, and many more. Outside your farm, you can explore Sharance Town, and later, Univir Settlement. Some monsters won’t give produce, though.Īside from the usual farm work, you can earn money by fishing on bodies of water and sand (yes, you can cast your fishing rod in a desert), mine some minerals using a hammer, and selling stuff and items you came across in dungeons. Monsters can be tamed and will give you produce, like Bufamoos with milk and Wasps with honey. Unlike Harvest Moon where you take care of animals, here in Rune Factory you’ll take care of monsters. A crop’s growth rate varies and after watering it every day, it will bear fruits/vegetables and you can sell it by shipping it inside the shipping bin on your field. You can plant different kind of crops and you can only plant it on certain seasons, such as Pink Turnip in Spring. Rune Factory 3, like its predecessors, gives a large plot of land where you can till the soil and plant some seeds. He later focuses on trying to make the Sharance Tree’s flowers bloom. It focuses on the character Micah (who can be renamed by the player), who was “offered” to live in the Sharance Tree and build a ranch beneath it. Rune Factory 3 is a Simulation Role Playing game and the fourth game in the series, but the third game released on Nintendo DS.
